Prerequisites: CE 2110; ME 2120; and CSE 1010. Not open for credit to students who have passed ME 3295 when offered as "Soft Robotics."

Grading Basis: Graded

Introduction to the principles, design, fabrication, and control of soft robotic systems. Unlike traditional rigid robots, soft robots leverage flexible and deformable materials for enhanced adaptability, safety, and bio-inspiration. Topics include material selection, actuation strategies, modeling and simulation, sensing, control, and real-world applications in healthcare, search and rescue, and industrial automation.
