Prerequisites: Recommended preparation: French 1104, three years of high school French, or equivalent proficiency level.

An exploration of French society through the lens of major French media outlets. Enhancement of core language proficiency skills through active engagement with French media coverage of key issues. Topics may include diversity, discrimination, environmental challenges, political and ethical debates, technological change, and the historical evolution of the French media. Critical interrogation of the role of the media in shaping national debates. Emphasis on language proficiency, analytical skills, media literacy, and cultural competence. Taught in French.
